About King Elementary School
Our DREAM for KING

King's Anti-Racist Stance
We commit to creating a school community where racism is actively named, challenged, and dismantled. We do this by calling out racist acts, turning these instances into learning opportunities, and ensuring students are taught to do the same.
- We name and work to change racism and white supremacy that is embedded in the systems and structures of our school, district, and broader education system.
- We take time to learn about racism, reflect on and examine our own biases, and continually seek feedback from multiple perspectives to help us grow in being antiracist.
- We ensure that marginalized voices are heard, valued, believed, and centered in decision-making.
- We create safe, inclusive spaces for students and families, honor native languages, celebrate diverse racial and cultural identities, and integrate the histories, heritage, and lived experiences of all groups into our teaching and learning.
- We reject deficit thinking about students, families, or staff.
- We uphold high expectations for every student. We treat our students, families, and each other with dignity and respect.
